From July 27, Taiwan lowers the Covid-19 Level 3 alert to Level 2. Most of the restrictions on economic activities are relieved while the wearing mask and closure of certain businesses, like bars, discos and swim pools, are still required.

Though the alert level is lowered down, the border restrictions remain the same due to the concern of Delta variant. Travelers who are not legal residents of Taiwan will still not be permitted to enter the country unless in exceptional cases, which may be made on a case by case basis.

Also, the local infection cases were on a relative low level since last two weeks ago. On July 26, Taiwan reported 11 new Covid-19 infections but no deaths. It is the second consecutive day that nobody was reported to have died of the disease.
